The Executive Director must be a strong leader and connector with a passion for building community. They are experienced in nonprofit leadership and have successfully served in a highly visible capacity representing a significant and growing organization to the public. This person is a seasoned fundraiser having managed a diversified portfolio of corporate, individual, foundation, and government donors. Comfortable managing a diverse staff and reporting to a Board of Directors, this next leader will be as comfortable building a team and participating in programs and operational matter as they are with external relations.
Candidates should have eight to ten years’ experience in senior leadership roles within nonprofit organizations, have a passion for and commitment to the communites around them. If not already from the Rehoboth Beach area, this person will relocate and quickly embrace the community, become an essential contributor to the organization’s . They should have prior experience leading and/or supporting the work of a nonprofit board of directors, building an inclusive organizational culture, and some exposure to management of large endowments and investment portfolios. Those interested in applying should have an understanding of nonprofit programmatic best practices to help monitor effectiveness of programs and evaluate outcomes.
