Cooper Coleman Places Kate Schroder as President and CEO of Interact For Health

CHICAGO, IL — Cooper Coleman LLC has placed Kate Schroder as President and CEO at Cincinnati, OH-based Interact for Health. A national search led by Bill Coleman, Co-Founder and Principal of the growing firm, identified Schroder, a healthcare leader with more than 15 years of experience in both the public and private sectors. Among her many achievements, Kate has served on the Cincinnati Board of Health since 2016, and in 2021, she led vaccine coordination efforts for the Greater Cincinnati region as the Interim Chief Strategy Officer with The Health Collaborative.

In this new position, as of January 1, 2022, Kate works with the staff and Board of Directors to provide leadership, strategy, and vision to the organization. She oversees annual investments of more than $7 million to support the community via grantmaking, community research and evaluation, and education while working with the Board to manage the Foundation’s charitable endowment, currently valued at more than $260 million.

“Interact for Health has a tremendous opportunity to build on its strong legacy and to further advance health outcomes—and health equity—in the Greater Cincinnati region,” said Schroder. “Now more than ever, partners have come together across the community to respond to the pandemic. I am excited to help build on that platform to align resources and strengthen partnerships that will move the needle on some of our most pressing health challenges, including racial disparities and mental health. I’m humbled by the challenge and opportunity ahead—and excited for what we can achieve together.”

A native of Cincinnati, Kate has led health initiatives locally and internationally. While serving as Vice President at Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI), Kate led an $80M program to reduce the cost of pediatric drugs by 40% nationally across India, Kenya, Nigeria, and Uganda and increased treatment rates for tens of millions of children. In 2020, Kate was the Democratic nominee for Congress in Ohio’s first district, running on a platform that included increased access to affordable healthcare. Since 2016, Kate has served on the Cincinnati Board of Health, working with Interact for Health and other key partners to expand dental care to children and strengthen services in the city’s 23 federally qualified health centers.

Kate holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Indiana University and an MBA from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. Her work reducing childhood mortality and strengthening health systems in low-resource settings has been published in several academic journals, including the British Medical Journal and The Lancet.

About Interact for Health

Founded in 1997, Interact for Health, formerly The Health Foundation of Greater Cincinnati, was created out of an investment of proceeds from Humana’s $221 million acquisition of ChoiceCare Foundation’s health maintenance organization. Since then, Interact for Health has worked to change how health care is delivered in the region, especially among under-resourced communities. The organization’s $200+ million charitable endowment funds the organization’s more than $7 million in grant distributions annually to tackle underlying root causes of health disparities such as inequality, poverty, and discrimination based on race/ethnicity, gender, ability, socioeconomic status, and sexual orientation.
