Michele Nakazawa

Fiscal Officer + Business Manager

Michele Nakazawa has over 20 years of experience within the California State University (CSU) System. She has been with CSU Los Angeles since 2001, working in two divisions: first in the university’s central Business Financial Services division and most recently in the College of Professional and Global Education (PaGE), a self-support college.


In Business Financial Services, she began as an Accounting Technician III, Accounts Payable Technician before being promoted to an Accountant I, Accounts Payable Lead. In these roles, she conducted monthly reconciliation and payment of the Procurement Card for the entire campus, processed vendor invoice payments, reviewed and processed travel claims for the campus, maintained the vendor file, trained and updated staff on policies and procedures, and led a team of five technicians for over eight years.


Michele was later recruited to the College of Professional and Global Education as a Financial Analyst, where she implemented best practices in record-keeping and other procedural areas. During her tenure, she enhanced transparency in the revenue-sharing process and strengthened relationships with the academic colleges.

With eight years of experience in the operations of a self-supporting college, Michele brings valuable expertise to her new role. She has extensive experience managing financial processes related to revenue-sharing agreements for academic programs, including continuing education, extension courses, and seasonal academic sessions. Additionally, she oversaw lease agreements for the college’s property and parking facilities in downtown Los Angeles.


Michele is a proud California State University, Dominguez Hills graduate, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. She is excited to return to her alma mater and bring her many years of expertise to the College of Continuing and Professional Education.
